Privacy Policy

Última actualización: October 17, 2026

At Cambio Uruguay, we respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, for what purpose, with whom we share it, and what choices you have regarding it. Cambio Uruguay is a free information service; we do not sell currency or operate bank accounts.

1. Responsible

The site is managed by the Cambio Uruguay team. For any privacy-related questions, you can write to us at admin@cambio-uruguay.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Usage and device data: Pages visited, time on site, browser type, operating system, language and approximate country, collected in aggregate form using analytics tools.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: See section 4.
  • Account details (optional): If you log in (Google, email, magic link, or Discord), we store an identifier and the minimum data necessary to provide you with favorites and alerts for quotes and rentals. Authentication is managed with Firebase (Google).
  • Search alerts (rentals, homes for sale, used cars and motorcycles) are optional. We store your chosen filters, frequency, channels, whether you want price drops, your verified email address and delivery records to avoid repeating notifications. To detect price drops we keep the last and lowest price of each public listing, with no data about you. Push uses a device registration identifier. You can pause or delete an alert in your account; deleting it also removes its delivery history. Each email includes a link to unsubscribe from that alert’s emails independently of push notifications.
  • Data you send us: If you write to us by email, we will keep your message to reply to you.

3. How we use the data

We use the information to operate and improve the site, measure its audience in aggregate, personalize content and display advertising, remember your preferences (such as language and cookie choice) and, if you have an account, provide you with favorites and alerts.

4. Cookies and third-party services

We use our own cookies (for example, to remember your language and cookie preferences) and third-party cookies for analytics and advertising purposes. The main third parties are:

  • Google Analytics (GA4): aggregated audience metrics.
  • Google AdSense: Advertising. Third-party providers, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
  • Google Ads: campaign and conversion measurement.
  • Firebase (Google): Authentication and notifications, only if you use those features.
We use Google's Consent Mode (v2): until you accept, analytics and advertising cookies will remain disabled. You can change your choice at any time via the "Configure cookies" link in the footer.

Learn more about how Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites You can manage ad personalization in google.com/settings/ads .

5. Legal basis and conservation

We process your data based on your consent (analytics and advertising cookies) and our legitimate interest in operating the site. We retain your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law.

In our used car directory, we display, alongside each ad and only to those who request it with a click, the phone number the seller included in the ad's public text or the business number a dealership publishes on its own website, along with its origin and the date we read it. We don't take this information from what a portal reserves for account holders, we don't make it available to search engines, and we delete it when the ad is no longer published or 21 days after we read it.

6. Your rights and options

  • Accept or reject cookies from the banner or the "Configure cookies" link.
  • Block or delete cookies from your browser settings.
  • To request access, rectification or deletion of your data, write to admin@cambio-uruguay.com.
  • If your number appears next to a car ad, you can remove it by clicking "Remove it from this site" on that same ad or by writing to us: it will not be shown again on any ad on the site.

7. Minors

The site is not directed at children under 13 years of age and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the changes on this page with their new update date.

Questions about your data? Write to us and we'll answer you.
